Blue Bandana Pet Bakery was established in July 2006 as a philanthropic business, 100% of the profits support organizations that help children with learning differences. Blue Bandana offers all-natural gourmet pet treats at Lancaster's Central Market, as well as at farmers' markets around the Central PA region.
For those with a sweet tooth, we've got something for you, too! Tempting gourmet candy and chocolates are another new addition to our ever-growing destination market stand.
Mission accomplished (partially)!Blue Bandana Pet Bakery awards partial scholarship
Blue Bandana Pet Bakery (BBPB) sold its first dog biscuit in July 2006. Two years and many treats later, BBPB was able to offer its first partial scholarship to a Janus student. In the past, BBPB helped pay for tutoring for students with learning differences, funded the supplies for the art room, and underwrote the 2007 Fine Arts Fair. And now the dream of helping a student attend the school has been realized. Gifts to The Janus School total over $14,000 to date!
Rob Liss, trustee and BBPB founder, said this about the accomplishment, "I want to thank the many loyal customers who purchase pet treats at the market stands for helping to make this a reality. It has always been my dream, and those associated with Blue Bandana, to actually be able to fund a full tuition to Janus. Being able to effect change in just one child’s life is a great feeling!"
